agra and fatehpur sikri .
fankfurt , delhi, agra.
arrival in delhi after an acceptable flight at the emergency exit. connecting flight to agra delayed.
the moment i leave agra airport i'm hit by india's typical characteristics: it's loud, it's crowded, it's busy. and it's interesting to watch. not really a surprise, but it always takes a few minutes to get used to it. but then it's just fun.
in the evening i try to organize a not organized trip. the internet connections break down every other minute. train connections are not confirmed. 99,5% probability is not enough in a country were everything is promised but only partly kept. especially if a flight is waiting. seems i need a taxi back to delhi.
taj mahal.
getting up at 5am for the sunrise at taj mahal. times have changed. no more crossing of the river behind the palace. and even going to the river to take some pictures is not possible. the access is blocked by soldiers. no permission, no way. traveller in bad mood. well, i take what i get and try to forget what i want. i skip entering taj mahal and decide to see something new.
fatehpur sikri.
the taxi ride to fatehpur sikri is an experience by itself. except you're suffering from claustrophobia and don't like wrong-way drivers. yeehaw!
the palace of the former mogul capital is a good example of an architecture that is not limited by ressources. stroll through the mosque and various buildings and observe the people.
back in agra. have a cappuccino in a climatized coffee and watch a buffalo herd passing in front. still a country of great contrasts.
as some backpacker commented on my logistics challenge: 'that's a new concept of traveling you have invented. you dont' get transport to your destination, you go where a transport is possible.'.
